Our community
We are passionate about what we teach, and provide friendly, welcoming classes where each individual is important. We believe we are providing essential tools for life – a healthier body, a happier spirit, a chance to learn new skills and to adopt a calmer, more centered approach to life.
Who comes along?

-
We have ex-teachers, engineers, housewives, office workers, artists, retired people, busy mums and dads – in fact people from all walks of life
-
You are not too old in your 80s, and not too young in your 20s – most people fit somewhere in between
-
We range from more athletic runners and gym bunnies to self-confessed couch potatoes, or people recovering from injuries and illnesses - in fact just about all levels of ability
-
Lots of people are looking for some “me time,” a chance to relax and unwind, help to de-stress, or to keep a good residual fitness regime, and improve certain aspects of health
What can you achieve with tai chi and qigong?
We asked our students – who better! – what improvements they had noticed in their health, and these were some of the top responses:
-
Improved relaxation and calmness
-
Better mobility within the joints and less arthritic pain
-
Improvements in breathing patterns (fewer asthma attacks, better sleep)
-
Better co-ordination and balance
-
Reduced stress levels and lower blood pressure
-
Energy level is improved
-
Improvement in circulation
-
Feeling stronger, fitter and healthier!

What’s a tai chi class like?
-
Please arrive wearing loose clothing that you can easily move around in, layers are often a good idea
-
Soft trainer-like shoes are best
-
Some people like to bring a bottle of water to drink afterwards
-
Classes start with a gentle warm up to mobilise all the major joints of the body
-
We then all perform together some gentle tai chi movements, you just need to follow your instructor, all the moves will be explained!
-
Everyone works to their own ability – tai chi makes you feel great inside and out!
-
Please let your instructor know if you have any special health problems that we need to be aware of
-
Classes are very informal and friendly, we try to make everyone feel at home
-
All of our classes run on a pay-as-you-go basis so you just pay for the ones you attend – no joining fees
Tai Chi classes attract lovely positive people – we’re all working together to help maintain and improve our health and well-being!
Thank you for your lovely comments . . .
